Welcome to the Physical Education page at Trinity School.

Scooting Stars
This year Year 3 and Year 4 have had the opportunity to access a 6 week programme called Scooting Stars. This programme helps the children develop and understand how to use a scooter and how to keep safe whilst moving around on it.  After completing a questionnaire, over 90% of the children enjoyed the programme and 85%  felt that they become better at scooting. A massive opportunity for our children and it was  encouraging to see a lot of children saying they would like to have a scooter outside of school.
Mini Wheelers

This is something that makes everybody smile at Trinity! A fun 6 weeks learning about getting on a bike and using it safely. We use the balance bikes to build confidence, spatial awareness and it helps children to develop core balance. Everything you need to ride a bike! Our children have loved every single minute of Mini Wheelers and Trinity will continue to use the Sports Premium to give our children an opportunity to learn how to ride a bike.

A big well done to our Year 5 and Year 6 boys team for coming third in the Futsal  competition.

Having qualified in first position, the boys did extremely well and went through to the semi-final stages. Although Trinity scored the first goal, we couldn’t keep out 2 wonderful goals by the opposition resulting in a 1-2 defeat.

The children did a fantastic job in finishing the competition in 3rd place.

Once again, great team work and another wonderful opportunity to let their light shine!

Rugby League

Having working with Shares, we are delighted to have welcomed Leigh Centurions into our School to a give an insight of what Rugby League is all about. Year 3 and Year 4 have had 3 weeks to learn and apply some of their wonderful rugby league skills. Following on from the fantastic opportunity, we participated in Sky Try Rugby League Festival to give the children an opportunity to participate against other schools. A fantastic experience for our children.

At Trinity, we have Specialists coaches from West Lancashire School Sports Partnership to deliver high quality P.E. teaching to improve and help the children to engage in physical activity. This helps the children to compete in level 1 and level 2 games and a wide range of sporting competitions. This is also an opportunity to develop teachers subject knowledge and to work with the sports specialist to ensure we provide the best opportunities for the children.
We run many sports clubs by both specialists and staff from the school. We aim to give every child an opportunity to let their light shine in many different sports and clubs from Year 1 up to Year 6. We are delighted to say we have received the Gold kite mark for School games suggesting we have a significant number of pupils participating in school sports and activities on a regular basis.
