Our Courageous Advocates in Year Five
The children were inspired by our friend Mr Phil Marshall who came to speak to us about the work of Fairtrade in an assembley last term. This left them thinking on how they could help to make a difference in the injustice of the workers in those countries that provide us with food. They wanted their voices to be heard. So, they decided to write to the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, in the hopes that he will be able to raise Fairtrade's profile and potentially make more products for Fairtrade in the process. This will ensure that as many people as possible will get the pay that they deserve which will in turn allow them to support and raise their families in the right way and help future generations of communities in those places around the world where life is a little tough.
Well done to our Year 5 class – such kind and considerate children to those around them. True courageous advocacy in action!
