Design Technology

At Trinity Primary School our aim is to inspire our future creators to take risks, become resourceful and innovative by using creativity and imagination to design and make high quality products for a wide range of users, developing an understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world.

Design and Technology involves two important elements – learning about the designed and made world and how things work and learning to design and make functional products for particular purposes and users. The skills learnt in Design and Technology also help with learning across the curriculum, including Maths and English, and at Trinity we have linked many of our Design and Technology projects to our topics across History, Geography and Science. Design and Technology helps to develop children’s skills through collaborative working and problem-solving, and knowledge in design, materials, structures, mechanisms and electrical control.
